Escapes on the Run
For my innovations class, each of us were given the opportunity to work with a business or organization to help innovate in some sort of way so they can expand in the future. I was partnered with Alex Reed (sophomore) and Kate Jones (junior).
Escapes on the Run is a mobile escape room business that has just began in the early months on 2017. Here, they are able to travel to certain destinations and have their customers go through their escape room.
Our mission was to help them during their off-season months by creating a tabletop game for them. With this game, it would be a box that you would have to break into. Puzzles, knots, and many more ideas would be incorporated into this idea. As well as this, we attempted to target a new demographic. Currently, a majority of their customers were middle-aged women. We came to the conclusion that by utilizing different platforms of social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) to develop a variety of demographics for their company.
Together, all three of us were able to accomplish these goals and pitch them to the owners of the business. We gave ideas like having a tabletop game be interactive in such a way, so each competitor were to move around and not stay in one spot the whole time. Also, in regards to social media, we suggested the idea of taking pictures of each of their customers. Use these pictures as a way to promote the business yet also giving a nice memento to the customers. This will then show other people in the Fishers area how much enjoyment everyone has as well as see the time as a challenge to get the best time.
One last idea we gave our business partners at Escapes on the Run were to potentially buy one more trailer. This way, they would have more than one theme that people can go through and therefore generate more revenue. We hope Escapes on the Run take into consideration all of our ideas as they progress with their future. I, personally, see this company going very far and becoming very successful. I thoroughly enjoyed helping out with this business!
